Ok first of all I air fried my fish and if you don’t have an air frier already I IMPLORE you to buy one. I literally use it every day. I don’t use oil on anything but if you’re not counting calories like it’s your fucking job then adding a little makes everything amazing. Like you could cook a piece of kale and be blown away. Also, Truff Hot Sauce is worth the hype. I’m making these for lunch to add more veggies to my diet and stay fairly low carb, not to mention they take 7 mins.
Power Bowl #1
Edible Cookie Dough
Ever since I was maybe 2 years old I’ve eaten raw cookie dough. Luckily I never got salmonella, but being old enough to know better I try to avoid food illnesses. This dough is a total dupe for ‘real’ cookie dough, takes 5 minutes to make, and is basically guilt free since it’s mostly chickpeas. In-fucking-sane. Try it!
Chicken of the Sea
After eating salmon for more days in a row than I feel comfortable sharing, I decided I could not eat one single bite more of that delicious little fish for at least a month and needed to shake things up. Let me add that I love salmon bc of how easy it is. I tried cooking halibut to no avail: the fire-alarm may have gone off, so I wasn’t particularly inclined to try again. As I racked my brain, I thought to myself…….what about tuna???
Greens to Glow
Despite being pretty healthy and knowing I SHOULD be eating greens every day, I don’t particularly enjoy the pressure of meeting that quota. However, if you want to have glowing, dewy skin you just gotta do it. It also makes it harder that most “greens” associations are salads aka dinner or lunch. Since I don’t love salads I needed a new solution so I came up with one! I now eat an entire container of spinach/kale every single day and get it in first thing in the morning so there are no excuses (I make this at night, every night, and let it sit in the fridge overnight so it’s ready in the morning). Try it and you can now justify your shitty dinner - you’re welcome!
Bircha a la Loni Jane
Easy AF
I posted this “recipe” on my Instagram story last week and got a lot of DM’s about it which is shocking to me because it’s so easy and I’ve been making it since I was 11. No joke. I don’t even really feel like it deserves a post, but it’s a good, easy staple. I like eating this for dinner because it’s packed with protein, fiber, and nutrients, and keeps me full until the next day. Salty sauteed broccoli tastes better than french fries to me imo. Here ya go. 10 minutes I SWEAR
Comfort Food with a Side of Tumeric
I’ve never really bought into the notion of ‘comfort food’ as being savory food since I’m more of a sweets girl, but living on the East Coast and its subsequent -7 degree winters has thrown that proclivity right out the window. At this point I would rather rip my teeth out than make any type of frozen acai bowl so I’ve had to come up with other things to eat. Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise since I suppose eating 27 acai bowls per week is not necessarily a well rounded diet.
