Despite being pretty healthy and knowing I SHOULD be eating greens every day, I don’t particularly enjoy the pressure of meeting that quota. However, if you want to have glowing, dewy skin you just gotta do it. It also makes it harder that most “greens” associations are salads aka dinner or lunch. Since I don’t love salads I needed a new solution so I came up with one! I now eat an entire container of spinach/kale every single day and get it in first thing in the morning so there are no excuses (I make this at night, every night, and let it sit in the fridge overnight so it’s ready in the morning). Try it and you can now justify your shitty dinner - you’re welcome! Tip: start with a handful of spinach and work up gradually. You can add spinach to any overnight oats recipe.
If you’re wondering ytf you would want to eat a container of spinach, particularly UNCOOKED spinach every morning, behold:
Glowing skin (this is my favorite benefit)
Reduce wrinkles and fine lines
Smoother and more even skin tone due to spinach increasing collagen production
Increase energy
Reduce blood pressure
Strengthen bones
Did I mention glowing skin?
Try it a few times a week and you’ll be hooked because it just makes you feel GOOD.
YOU WILL NEED:
1 container baby spinach
1/4 cup BIRCHA or oats if you don’t have Bircha ingredients
1/2-1 cup Macadamia milk (or almond/cashew/etc)
1 scoop vanilla protein powder, preferably plant based.* Make sure you like the taste of your protein bc that’s what this mostly ends up tasting like
2 droppers vanilla stevia (optional)
1/2 cup berries of your choice - I use blueberries and raspberries. I recommend banana and sweet dark cherries (pitted, obv)
*Whey protein is derived from milk which is highly inflammatory and contributes to a myriad of diseases. It’s literally just dried pus which is kind of gross.
HOW:
Video instructions and written instructions below…….
Blend spinach, protein powder, macadamia milk, and stevia on HIGH for 1 minute. You want the spinach blended VERY fine.
Pour over Bircha or oats and mix. Store in a container overnight to let the spinach mixture thicken.
That’s it! Take out of the fridge in the morning and top with berries of your choice. You can see how thick it gets in the video.
