Lemon Water
Unless you live under a rock I’m sure you’ve heard of this one.
WHY?
It alkalizes your body. Diseases thrive in acidic environments. The more alkalized foods you eat, the less likely you are to get sick.
Other benefits include:

· Flush your body with minerals first thing after sleeping
HOW?
In case you’re unfamiliar with this term, every food is either acidic or basic on the PH scale. Basic foods alkalize your body and acidic foods acidify your body (shocker). You might wonder how a citrus fruit could alkalize your body? In his book, the Alkaline Recipe Book, Ross Bridgeford explains:
“It is basically about what effect the food has on the body once consumed rather than it’s acidity or alkalinity in its natural state. Lemons, while containing citric acid have a very high content of the strongly alkaline minerals potassium, magnesium and sodium. These minerals have a very alkalis-ing effect on the body.”
TIP: Roll your lemons on a counter with your palm before cutting them. This will help release the juice inside!
